I made a quick trip to the Klamath to get my gear in order for the 6 day 5 night Grande Ronde trip.  The water temperature was in the high 50’s, but the fish were a bit hard to find.  I traveled about 40 river miles in total, but managed to land 6 adult steelies and 18 1/2 pounders.  They Mike’s Steelhead Nymph and the Copper Herniator performed the best.

The blue dog on the right was a rescue that some stand up guys from San Francisco took charge of a few years back.  It was very cool to see Hoopa and his owner and reconnect.

Lesson of this trip was find the fish and stay there.  They were concentrated in spots and other spots were empty.
